Residents Asked To Beware Of Mount Lewotobi Flores Lava Floods

JAKARTA - The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) reminded residents to be aware of the potential for rain lava flooding from Mount Lewotobi Laki, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). "Because it was recorded that there was one flood vibration or rain lava with an amplitude of 7.4 mm and a duration of 2.116 seconds," said Lewotobi Laki Volcano Monitoring Officer Bobyson Lamanepa from Wulanggitang District, East Flores, Sunday, February 4. Referring to the map of the Lewotobi Laki Volcano Disaster-Prone Area, the most lava lanes to the northeast are three points around Nobo and Nu Selanglen Villages, Ile Bura District.

Furthermore, there is one point in the Dulipali Village area, Ile Bura District, as well as another point in the Tabana and Duang border areas, Wulanggitang District.PVMBG has also issued an appeal for residents to be aware of rain lava floods when it rains with high intensity. "Therefore, it is necessary to be aware of the potential for rain lava flooding in rivers that originate at the top of the mountain if it rains high intensity," said Bobyson. The Lewotobi Male Volcano Monitoring Post is still monitoring every six hours and finding an eruption recorded.
