Mahfud MD's Last Message To The Coordinating Ministry For Political, Legal And Security Affairs: I Ask For Neutral, Neutral, Neutral

Mahfud MD gave the final message to the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) during the farewell ceremony on the last day of Mahfud served as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

The candidate for vice president number 3 is known to have officially resigned from his ministerial position to President Joko Widodo on Thursday, February 1.

To the ranks of ASN of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud asked them to be neutral in the implementation of the 2024 General Election. In fact, the word "neutral" was uttered three times as an emphasis.

"I ask you to be neutral, neutral, neutral. You will really take a political stance, you will choose yourself later, but the community (must be) neutral," Mahfud said in the courtyard of the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Friday, February 2.

Mahfud asked the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs not to express their support in the 2024 General Election openly to anyone. Mahfud also advised them not to follow the flow of power in choosing.

"You just choose who you will be. Whoever you believe in. Don't get carried away by the current because power is rotating, power is rotating, there must be a time when there will be a change," he said.

On that occasion, Mahfud also admitted that he had asked his former subordinates at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs who had served as officials in the regions not to privilege him during the 2024 presidential election campaign.

"Many of my friends are now regional commanders, regional police chiefs, acting governors, regent officials, and mayors, many are being processed from here. Work well. You don't have to support me, it's professional," said Mahfud.

"I know a lot of people feel bound because I used to be with me and now somewhere. Then I said that I went there 'You don't have to meet because you are a government official, the apparatus, while I came as a politician and vice presidential candidate'," continued the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court.

Today, Mahfud said goodbye to the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in the ceremony after exercising with employees. After giving a farewell speech, Mahfud packed the items that had been in his office.
