JAKARTA - Former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo and his former staff member, Andreau Pribadi Misanta are suspected of abusing the online visitation rights granted to detainees at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention center.

Both of them are suspects who received bribes in connection with the export license for the fries or lobster seeds.

Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri said that the KPK detention center did provide facilities for online visits to all their detainees, including Edhy Prabowo and Andreau. However, this visit is limited to the nuclear family.

However, when both of them got their share of the visit, it turned out that what appeared was not the registered nuclear family but other parties.

"Those who attended the online visit were not registered and registered as part of the families of the suspects," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, February 24.

On this suspicion, he then ensured that the KPK detention center would further tighten the implementation of online visits to detainees.

"For this incident, the KPK detention center will certainly be more selective and actively monitor the implementation of online visits for detainees at the KPK detention center," he said.

It is known, the COVID-19 pandemic has made the KPK enforce an online visit policy for families and attorneys who want to visit detainees. This is done to prevent transmission of the virus in the detention center.

As previously reported, in the case of the export bribery of lobster fry or lobster seeds, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).

The director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT) also gave the bribe.

In this case, Edhy and five other people were charged with Article 12 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 11 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption (Tipikor) ) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the KUHP in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, as a bribe giver, Suharjito was charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
