DENPASAR - Acting Governor of Bali Sang Made Mahendra Jaya said the World Water Forum (WWF) invited around 34 heads of state on May 18-25, 2024.

On the other hand, he said, there was a discourse that the main location for the meeting was shifted from the beginning in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency to Bali Beach Convention which was in the Health SEZ area, Sanur.
"We heard from the WWF committee that there was an alternative discourse that the venue would not be shifted to the Bali Beach Convention," he added.
He added that this location has a representative place and directly faces the view of Sanur Beach.
The Acting Governor of Bali added that the implementation of international activities could encourage the level of foreign tourist visits, especially for the tourism business sector, which organizes meetings, incentive travel, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).
Currently, he continued, Bali tourism in 2023 has risen, although it is not the same as the conditions in 2019.
He recorded that the number of foreign tourist visits in Bali in 2023 reached 5.2 million people or exceeded the target of 4.5 million and domestic tourists reached 9.8 million people.
"The situation in Bali during the political year and the campaign period in general so far is very conducive," he added.
Indonesia will host the 10th World Water Forum and Bali will be selected as the location for the implementation of the global event which is held every three years.
