7-year-old Boy Killed By Landslide In Malang

A seven-year-old child named Wildan Alfarizi was reported to have died after being hit by a landslide material that occurred in Sumberpang Hamlet, Sumbersuko Village, Wagir District, Malang Regency, East Java. Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Malang Regency, Sadono Irawan, said the landslide incident occurred on Sunday (28/1), but only reported on Monday (29/1). "The incident occurred on Sunday, we just received a report today from the residents," said Sadono as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 29. The incident occurred during a high-intensity rain in the Wagir District area on Sunday, approximately 11.00 WIB. The rain caused the back of the house to collapse. According to him, the victim was currently in the kitchen of the Sugiono's house (53) who was the victim's grandfather. At the time the victim was in the kitchen, then a landslide occurred on the back of the house. He added that the victim was reported to have suffered bleeding in the nose due to being hit by landslide material in the form of land and part of the bricks of the house. The victim was evacuated to one of the local health service facility. "Then the victim was referred to Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang City, but on the way, the victim died," he said.

Sementara ituKapolsek Wagir AKP Ronny Margas mengatakan pihak keluarga menolak untuk dilakukan Visum Et Repertum (VER) terhadap jenazah korban dengan membuat surat pernyataan.Korban merupakan warga Jalan Kapi Woro Dalam II, RT002/012 Desa Mangliawan, Kecamatan Pakis, Kabupaten Malang. Saat itukorban berada di rumah kakeknya yang berada di Dusun Sumberpang, Desa Sumbersuko, Kecamatan Wagir.Saat ini, lanjutnya, pihak kepolisian bersama sejumlah pihak terkait melakukan pemindahan material longsor yang berada di bagian belakang rumah Sugiono tersebut. Selain itujuga akan dilakukan perbaikan pada tembok yang mengalami kerusakan."Kami memindahkan material longsor bersama Muspika Desa dan relawan, selanjutnya akan membantu perbaikan tembok," katanya.
