Elected In The Presidential Election, Anies Baswedan Asks The Ministry Of Manpower To Arrange Regulations For Ojol To Have Worker Status

Presidential candidate number one Anies Baswedan promised to prepare BPJS Ketenagakerjaan specifically for Ojol or online motorcycle taxis. Anies assessed that online motorcycle taxi drivers are also workers even though the law is referred to as 'Mitra.' So far, ojol drivers do not get their rights as workers because of their partner status. As a result, if the president is elected later, Anies will ask the Ministry of Manpower to draft regulations for that. "We witnessed that they did not get full rights that should be as working people," explained Anies in the labor and ojol edition of Anies' Desak campaign at Jiexpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 29. In addition to BPJS Employment, Anies also wants to provide education subsidies, KIP (Smart Indonesia Cards), KIP Lectures to all Ojol drivers.

"This is part of ensuring that welfare needs can be improved and then their rights as workers must be given", said Anies at the Ojol and Labor editions of Anies' Desak event, Monday, January 29.
