Ganjar Pranowo: We Will Defend Aiman Witjaksono

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo stated that the Ganjar-Mahfuda National Winning Team (TPN) defended the case experienced by TPN spokesman Aiman Witjaksono.

"Last night, we communicated because there was a Ganjar-Mahfud team that had not officially joined, giving a note to the government that no one should intervene in the people, and the child is now being investigated by the police. His name is Aiman Witjaksono. We will defend Aiman," said Ganjar in the Cirebon People's Celebration campaign at Bima Stadium, Cirebon City, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 27.

Aiman was hit by a criminal case for allegedly violating Article 14 paragraph (1) and/or Article 14 paragraph (2) and/or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Broadcasting or notification of fake news.

Aiman, who is also a journalist, is said to be reminding him of neutrality in the 2024 General Election.

Recently, Aiman's cell phone was confiscated by police investigators for the sake of evidence in the investigation.

Aimanpun is worried that the confiscation could reveal the identity of the resource person or informant who stated that there were non-neutral persons in the 2024 General Election.

"Aiman is a journalist who is telling about conditions with his rights and freedoms. So, actually the way the opponent is not arresting, not checking, but please have the right to answer. That's a free press, which was fought for in the reform era," said Ganjar.

Ganjar stated that his party will always accompany Aiman in matters with law enforcement to find out more what really happened.

The Aiman case, Ganjar continued, is similar to the case experienced by a Ganjar volunteer named Palti Hutabarat.

Palti uploaded it on her social media account regarding content containing voice recordings of conversations of suspected officials in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, which supports one of the pairs of candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election.

"So, when there is a post, it continues to be examined, it feels like the models, something like this are not allowed. The people will decide for themselves. He (people) will fight it in their way. For supporters of Ganjar-Mahfud, fight it in constitutional ways, fight it in the right ways because all supporters of Ganjar-Mahfud obey the rules," said Ganjar.
