11 Detainees At The Southeast Aceh Police Escaped With A Broken Ceiling, 8 Successfully Arrested And 3 Others Joined DPO

JAKARTA - As many as 8 of the 11 detainees who escaped from the cell at the Southeast Aceh Police Headquarters (Agara) were again arrested by officers.

Officers are still hunting 3 other prisoners who have been included in the wanted list (DPO).

"Eight out of 11 detainees have been detained," said Agara Police Chief AKBP Wanito Eko Sulistyo as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 23.

These prisoners previously escaped from the Agara Police detention by breaking into the ceiling. They braid some fabrics as 'ladders' for escape routes.

The 11 detainees who escaped were Pauzi, Sahidil, Mahmudin, Romi Hasan Basri, Saharudin, Iqbal Ramadhan, Fati, M Nazar, Irfandi, Sahbandi and Dedi Syahputra.

Wanito Eko said that the 8 detainees had been put back in the local Police detention cell. Meanwhile, three other people are still in search of police officers and have established DPO status.

"That's right (three were appointed by the DPO), the Intel Sat Opsnal Team, the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Narcotics Unit are still searching and chasing the remaining three detainees," said Wanito.

The police chief said that the 11 detainees who escaped were previously arrested for different cases, 2 of which were due to theft and 9 others related to drug cases.

"Nine people for drug cases and two others for theft," said Wanito Eko Sulistyo.
