Despite High Electability, Megawati's Fate Of Ganjar In The 2024 Pilres

JAKARTA - The name Ganjar Pranowo is currently being discussed as a presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election. This is following a survey result which states that Joko Widodo voters have shifted to the Governor of Central Java.

Besides that, Ganjar's electability is also quite high. Then, with the results of this survey, will Ganjar's progress in the 2024 presidential election be smooth? Apparently not. This is because the election of who will be nominated to advance in the Presidential Election is still waiting for the direction of the general chairman, namely Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"The authority is in the hands of Ketum, that's the decision of the Congress. So we just wait patiently. As usual in politics, candidate pairs appear at the last hour before the deadline," said DPP PDIP Chairman Hendrawan Supratikno to VOI, Tuesday, February 23.

According to him, the results of this survey should be treated normally. This is because, apart from the grand democratic party being held for a long time, the survey results are only intended to bring up the names of potential candidates.

"The survey for 'gawe' that has only been carried out in 2024, should we assess it as mediocre," said Hendrawan.

Then, he said, the survey was carried out with specific goals and objectives. "From a marketing perspective, this is to open up the market, so that unpopular names will immediately look for political consultants and rush to build popularity-electability," said Hendrawan.

Thus, this cannot be a benchmark for someone being nominated as a presidential candidate. "The one who ultimately determines has the advantage, because he has read what the other contestants have done," added Hendrawan.

Previously, the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released the results of a survey of presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election. As a result, some of Jokowi's voters moved to Ganjar Pranowo.

In the survey, the public admitted that they voted the most for Jokowi in the upcoming presidential election with 18 percent of the results. Second, is Prabowo Subianto with 5.7 percent. Third, Anies Baswedan with 5.7 voters. Fourth, Ganjar Pranowo with a gain of 3.5 percent.

However, if Jokowi's name is issued because he is no longer able to participate in the 2024 presidential election, Prabowo Subianto will be in the top rank with 22.5 percent of voters. Uniquely, the name Ganjar overtook the second place at 10.6 percent and Anies at 10.2 percent.

"If Pak Jokowi's name is not included in the simulation, Pak Jokowi's vote will spread, at most to Pak Ganjar. 22 percent of Pak Jokowi's voters in 2019 go to Pak Ganjar," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in a virtual survey presentation, Monday, February 22nd.
