BATAM - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Batam City is investigating allegations of money political violations committed by candidates for the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) in Behindpadang District, Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri).

Batam City Bawaslu chairman Antonius Itoloha Gaho said the report on the results of the supervision was currently in the process of being made by the panwascam.

"We got information from panwascam friends and media friends, but currently we are still waiting for the report on the results of the supervision from the Behindpadang panwascam," said Antonius in Batam, Tuesday, January 23, as reported by Antara.

He said that his party could find out about the activities that took place there, after receiving the report on the results of the supervision.

"So we are still waiting for the report first, because if I say now, but it turns out that the surveillance report is different, I am afraid it will be wrong again. So later they will specify what their activities are, where, what they think, what the documentation will be, will be traced," he said.

Antonius said, after all the reports were complete, Bawaslu could follow up on this.

"Only after the results of the surveillance report to the City, we will follow up. So now we are still waiting," said Antonius.

Previously reported, Bawaslu Batam City invited the public to participate in supervising the practice of money politics in the 2024 General Election.

Coordinator of the Prevention Division, Community and Public Relations Participation (P2H) Bawaslu Batam City Zainal Abidin in Batam, Wednesday said that his party also coordinated with Batam International University (UIB) as the election monitor registered in Riau Islands Province.

"The politics of money is actually that from Bawaslu there is participatory supervision involving all elements of society," said Zainal.
