DENPASAR - Former Chancellor of Udayana University Prof. I Nyoman Gede Antara underwent a trial at the Corruption Court, Denpasar, regarding the corruption case in the institutional development donation fund (SPI) for accepting new students on an independent path.
The trial was held on Tuesday, January 23, Prof. Antara arrived at the Denpasar Corruption Building at around 10:00 WITA using a prisoner's car from the Class IIA Kerobokan Penitentiary, Badung.
Shortly before entering the courtroom, Prof. Antara said that he had carried out his duties and responsibilities as a rector at Udayana University, therefore he stated that there was no corruption in accepting new students on the independent path of Udayana University.
He also hopes that the trial for himself will run well.
"My friends and the other defendants are grateful, because the trial has been running smoothly. And hopefully we can get the essence of the judiciary," said Prof. Antara.
He assessed that the problem of institutional development donations was only an administrative problem, so it needed just administrative improvement.
"Everything we have done our best. In principle, we ask for the blessing of the community, and we convey it from the beginning in the BAP (reports of the examination event), we state that at Unud there has never been corruption. In this case, Prof. Antara, who served as Chancellor of Udayana University for the period 2021-2023, played the role of Chair of the 2018-2020 Independent Line New Student Admission Committee.
