JAKARTA - The political pressure continues to strengthen for Presidential Candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is reportedly asked to resign from his position as Mayor of Solo, because he often takes time off to campaign.

The chairman of the PDI-P faction of the Solo City DPRD, Yohanes Fidelis Sukasno, stated the results of the study of the performance of the Mayor of Solo and proposed that Gibran resign, on Wednesday 17 January. Gibran is considered to often take leave to carry out campaigns, thus making services to the community not optimal. If not optimal, it means that his work results are ineffective and efficient.

Sukasno explained that the Solo City Budget in 2022 with local revenue did not reach the target, nor in 2023 even though the 2023 revised APBD has been lowered. In addition to the management of the APBD which has not reached the target, Sukasno also said that the issuance of Mayor regulations is a derivative of several regional regulations that have been issued by the City Government together with the Solo DPRD, which until now still has no guardianship.
