The Attorney General's Office Continues To Hunt Down The Assets Of The Jiwasraya Suspects

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office in the process of investigating the failure to pay PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) has confiscated the assets of the suspects with a total value of Rp. 13.1 trillion. However, this amount is still not sufficient for the state loss that has just been announced by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), which is IDR 16.81 trillion.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said his party would continue to hunt down the assets of the suspects to recover the state's losses.

"As for the assets of the suspects, the total amounted to Rp. 13.1 trillion and this is still growing. We are still looking for it to fulfill what we hope for its return," said Burhanuddin, at the Attorney General's Office Complex, Bulungan, South Jakarta, Monday, 9 March.

However, Burhanuddin was reluctant to elaborate on the total asset confiscation from which assets. Referring to previous reports, the assets of the suspects that were seized were in the form of vehicles, land certificates, jewelry, gold mines, coal mines, and arowana fish captivity.

In addition, Burhanuddin explained that in connection with the case against the five suspects, the Attorney General's Office is still waiting for the completeness of the files.

"It is good if we ask whether it will be delegated immediately. It needs a process. In this filing we need state losses. If we get the state losses, we just need to file them and we will delegate them," he said.

Regarding whether there will be new suspects or other parties suspected of being affiliated, Burhanuddin said that until now his party is still developing the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya policy default case.

"What is certain is there. We will continue to develop who is involved, I will continue to pursue it," he explained.

For your information, in the investigation process the Attorney General has named six suspects. They are President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk Benny Tjokrosaputro, President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat, former Finance Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya Harry Prasetyo.

Then, former President Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya Hendrisman Rahim, former Head of the Investment and Finance Division of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya Syahmirwan, and Director of PT Maxima Integra Joko Hartono Tirto.

Regarding the case at the state-owned company, the AGO claimed to have examined 144 witnesses and searched 16 places.
