NATUNA - Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri) Ansar Ahmad approved Natuna Anambas to leave Riau Islands and form a new province.
"Friday morning I will sign a letter of recommendation for the expansion of Natuna Anambas," said Ansar in Natuna as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 17.
According to him, Natuna Anambas deserves to be a province, because it borders the neighboring country directly.
"With security reasons and Natuna's sovereignty it is very possible to prosper," he said.
According to him, the central government representatives in Natuna made Natuna and the Anambas Islands develop quickly.
In addition, Natuna Anambas is also more flexible in utilizing her resources.
"There must be a governor as the representative of the central government in the regions," said Governor Ansar Ahmad.
But he said, to make it happen, people must unite and work hand in hand.
"God willing, with the prayers and cohesiveness of the community, Natuna Anambas can become a new province like what happened in Papua," he said.

He said that if Natuna Anambas became a new province, she would open up many jobs for the people of Natuna and the Anambas Islands. Thus the economy will increase.
"Hopefully Natuna Anambas Province will materialize, thus providing cadres in Natuna with important positions," he said.
He believes that if Natuna Anambas becomes a development province, it will be faster because the managed areas will be divided into new regencies. "There are two more regencies," he said.
Meanwhile, Natuna Roza residents said they were happy to hear the news.
According to him, Natuna should be a province, because the Natuna area is very wide and directly adjacent to neighboring countries.
"Just imagine Natuna, which is this big, is managed by the district, of course the development will be slow," he said.
