Mahfud MD's Instagram Account Hacked Uploads Israeli Army Videos, Recovery Still Done

JAKARTA - The personal Instagram social media account belonging to Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD @mohmahfudmd has been hacked since Tuesday afternoon as shown by the video uploads of several Israeli soldiers headed the ball 12 seconds long.

Special Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Rizal Mostary conveyed that all uploads and messages sent from the @mohmahfudmd account since noon were at least around 16.00 WIB, not from Mahfud MD.

"Currently, Mr. Mahfud MD's personal Instagram account status (www.instagram.com/mohmahfudmd) has been hacked by other parties outside the management team. This situation has occurred since noon Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and recovery efforts are being carried out," said Rizal Mustary in an official broadcast by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 16.

In Mahfud's account, hackers uploaded a video with a description (caption) in Hebrew in abrew script, which if interpreted in a liter that reads: 'God is above me, who can control me?'

The upload as of 17.00 WIB has been liked by more than 8,000 Instagram users, and commented on by more than 2,000 users. So far, the Instagram account @mohmahfudmd is still active along with the video uploaded by the hacker is still on the account.

In the video, about nine soldiers who were likely from the Israeli military (IDF) took turns headed the ball, without giving messages to those who saw it. The setting where the video was taken includes the dock where the warship was docked, outdoors where there were mural paintings such as the IDF logo, on the beach and on the soccer field.

Mahfud MD, who uses the account name @mohmahfudmd, is currently followed by 1.3 million Instagram users, and uploaded more than 1,000 post/uploads.

In his account statement, Mahfud referred to him as Professor of Constitutional Law, former defense minister, former member of the DPR, and former chairman of the Constitutional Court. The description column of Mahfud's Instagram account also contains information "now serving as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs".
