JAKARTA - Bank DKI Corporate Secretary Herry Djufraini denied that his party had cut the nominal cash social assistance (BST) for residents. This is in response to the alleged defect in providing BST to residents of the economy affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In the process of distributing BST or other DKI Jakarta Provincial Government social assistance programs, all DKI Bank Management and employees have never collected any fees, including administration fees, transportation costs and other costs," Herry said in his statement, Tuesday, February 23.

To date, the DKI Pemprov has distributed Cash Social Assistance to 959.37 thousand beneficiaries or 90.92 recipients from a total distribution of 1,055,216 residents.

Finally, as many as 5,022 beneficiary families (KPM) in the Thousand Islands received BST on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

In details, a total of 2,473 households live in the South Seribu Islands District and 2,549 others in the North Seribu Islands District.

Herry said, Bank DKI together with the Social Service of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta can only serve a maximum of 500 BST recipients per day.

"Each recipient of social assistance will receive an invitation no later than H-1 before the distribution and the invitation is delivered by the social center to RT RW to be given to KPM," he said.

Previously, the Social Protection Reform Coalition found that the distribution of BST or direct cash assistance (BLT) in DKI Jakarta was still not on target.

Secretary General of the Indonesian People's Struggle Union (SPRI), Dika Moehammad, said that his party received reports of an extortion mode in the form of a nominal deduction of social assistance.

The methods range from thank you money, administrative deductions from RT or RW for the construction of RW posts, buying an ambulance, to building places of worship.

"The BST cuts occurred in 9 urban villages. Most of the victims were afraid to report," he said.
