Khofifah Joins TKN, Gibran Pede Wins In East Java

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka is optimistic to win in East Java (East Java). This is after the provincial governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa officially joined the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN).

"We have to be optimistic," said Gibran quoting Antara.

Gibran thanked Khofifah for joining the TKN. Meanwhile, Khofifah was appointed as the steering board as well as a national campaigner (jurkamnas) for Gibran and his partner, Prabowo Subianto.

"What is clear is that we are very grateful that Mrs. Khofifah is willing to join the 02 TKN team. What is clear is that we will work even harder and we want later the votes in East Java to increase even more after joining in 02," said Gibran.

When asked if he was sure to win one round in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres), Gibran asked for prayers. "Pray that everything goes well," said the Mayor of Surakarta.

Previously, Khofifah was officially appointed as the directorial board as well as the national team of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, as announced by the Secretary of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Nusron Wahid at the Media Center of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, South Jakarta, Thursday (11/1).

Nusron explained that the TKN had issued a decree on the joining of Khofifah which would be effective on Sunday, January 21, 2024. "The decree has been made, but the decree may be effective starting January 21," he said.

Nusron also said that Khofifah would take time off as Governor of East Java while serving at TKN Prabowo-Gibran. "(Khofifah) will leave as governor to concentrate until the winning process," said Nusron.

The Indonesian KPU has determined the participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, serial number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and serial number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
