The AMIN National Team Agrees That The KPU Will Not Change The Debat For The 2024 Presidential Election Even Though Jokowi Comments On It

JAKARTA - The National Team (Timnas) for the Winning of Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) agreed with the statement of the Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari who will not change the debate format of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election.

"We are in line with the KPU that there is nothing to change," said AMIN National Team Spokesperson, Iwan Tarigan, when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 10, confiscated by Antara.

Iwan said this was to respond to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s statement which considered that there was a need to improve the concept of a presidential and vice presidential candidate debate because the Third Debate of the 2024 Election Presidential Candidate was less educating the public because it attacked the personal side of the candidate more.

According to Iwan, the presidential candidate debate is a match for the presidential election candidate pairs to socialize their vision, mission, and work programs towards the people.

Currently, he continued, the concept of debate applied by the KPU has educated the public because it can provide the essence of understanding of the work programs offered by candidate pairs.

"Maybe the work program is good, it can be made, but whether the one who runs it is good or not, it also needs to be considered. The people there judge," said Iwan.

Previously, Monday, January 8, President Jokowi assessed that the substance of the vision and mission of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in the Third Debate of the 2024 Presidential Election was not very visible. Jokowi also asked that the debate session be formed even better by adding signs.

Responding to this, Hasyim Asy'ari emphasized that the KPU would not change the debate format for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election, including the matter of segment division and duration of debate.

As is known, a series of presidential and vice presidential candidates debates are still ongoing two more times, namely on January 21, 2024 and February 4, 2024.
