Tracing The Trail Of Drug Suppliers To Police Commissioner Yuni, Who Is Involved?

JAKARTA - The drug abuse case that ensnared former Police Chief Astana Anyar, Police Commissioner Yuni Purwanti Kusuma Dewi, is still attracting public attention. The National Police was asked to thoroughly reveal various matters related to the case, including the alleged involvement and figure of a drug supplier.

Member of the DPR RI from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Faction Mardani Ali Sera said that thorough disclosure must be made because it is feared that this case is an iceberg phenomenon. In fact, it may have happened a long time ago.

"We have to look at the root of the problem. I'm a little worried that this is just an iceberg that appears a little bit under a lot", said Mardani in a discussion broadcast on his YouTube account, Sunday, February 21.

Investigating drug suppliers to Police Commissioner Yuni, said Mardani, was aimed at destroying the distribution network to police officers. This is because this drug supplier may supply drugs to other police officers.

Also, Marrdani hopes that Police Commissioner Yuni will not become the person who protects the drug mafia in Bandung, West Java.

"Because if we look, this drug mafia is one of the most brutal in the courage", he said.

"So I see, come on, we dismantle what is the connection, where the meth came from, how did it hit, so we couldn't fall in the same hole twice", he added.

Furthermore, Mardani also mentioned the issue of the death penalty for Police Commissioner Yuni by the direction of the former National Police Chief, General Idham Azis. According to him, the police who are caught doing drug parties need to be punished with the heaviest sanctions.

"I agree with the harsh punishment as the previous Chief of Police, Pak Idham Azis. Even though it comes to the death penalty, that is another chapter", he said.

The reason is that the police as state apparatus and law enforcers should be a good example in society. So, Yuni's actions can no longer be forgiven.

"Because of that the public is naturally angry", said Mardani.

Mardani asked the police to investigate the evidence that could put Yuni to death. The police are asked to be indiscriminate and ask the public not to get emotional because the judge will still give the final decision in court.

"Whether it is followed up later depends on the judge's decision", he said.

The commissioner of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Poengky Indarti said that the National Police must thoroughly investigate the involvement of Police Commissioner Yuni in the drug network. This includes conveying all the results of the investigation in a transparent manner.

"Of course, it must be thoroughly investigated. In fact, the development of handling problems must be transparent", said Poengky.

It is undeniable that the case of the involvement of Polri members with drugs is nothing new. For this reason, the National Police should be on their knees and act decisively.

In fact, many cases like this, said Poengky, were caused by various reasons. Some of them include a heavy workload to economic needs.

"There are various reasons. If you take drugs, it is probably due to a heavy workload or because of trial and error. If you are backing or dealer, it is probably because of the need for money", he explained.

Regardless of the request for an investigation of the National Police, to date, the Police have not determined any sanctions against Police Commissioner Yuni. The reason is, still considering various things. Including, the track record of the Astana Anyar Police Chief during her service as a member of the National Police.

"Every member of the National Police certainly has achievements, how many years has she served, was she 20 years in service. Then did she never commit a violation, then what kind of violation did she commit? Is she only a new user? concerned how", said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan

"This is the consideration and policy of the decision by the National Police to give punishment to those concerned", he continued.

So far, Police Commissioner Yuni Purwanti is still undergoing an intensive examination. Later the results of the examination will also influence the decision to impose sanctions.

"Police Commissioner YP and 11 of its members are currently in the West Java Regional Police's Bid Propam examination and the urine test has been carried out on the concerned and the results are positive", he said.

On different occasions, West Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Dofiri also emphasized that his party would impose sanctions. However, the witness was given after his party had finished conducting the examination.

"Yes, it is clear, so there are two choices, dismissal or criminalized. So it is very clear that our actions against our members who commit violations. Yes, it can be both, depending on the mistakes later, we'll see", said Ahmad Dofiri.

According to him, this was implemented as a form of his seriousness in taking action against any member who commits an offense, including this middle-ranking female police officer.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Yuni Purwanti Kusuma Dewi and dozens of members were arrested by the West Java Regional Police. They are suspected of taking drugs.
