Luhut Talks About The 2024 Presidential Election: Once Again, Don't Lower Young People

BADUNG - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, spoke about the 2024 presidential election. Luhut spoke about the important role of young people including for political contestation

This was conveyed by Luhut during a performance evaluation meeting of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries 2023 Towards Indonesia Emas 2045 in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, Friday, December 22.

"So I want to convey to the wider community and future presidential candidates or future leaders. We have a complex problem, we have to be united for it. So it's not as easy as people say this. I experienced it, I'm a fast worker, that's a lot of people admit it. But I want to say, we have to use young people. This is if the people around me are not young like Rahmat, Firman (and others) will not be like this," said Luhut.

"Everyone appreciates that President Joko Widodo is able to navigate in this difficult world economy. Why is that possible? Because the data submitted was prepared by us, the assistants to the president, were well listened to, and he executed well," he said.

Luhut said young people should never be underestimated. Moreover, using the term haphazard, which Luhut said was inappropriate.

"Once again, don't let us demean young Indonesians. Don't let the term calm down, forget that. We are the ones who care, because they are old. So they will become embryos to make Indonesia great," he said.

"So we are all seniors, let's not harass our own nation, harass our own young people, say we are still struggling and so on, we don't need to. Or secondly, we don't feel that if we are instrumental in raising, never should we hope to hold someone's room, we must expect him to remain respectful until he submits, that is not necessary," he continued.
