Under The Cawang Flood Toll Road, Traffic Flow Is Diverted

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya diverted traffic flow on a number of roads due to flooding in several areas of DKI Jakarta, Friday, February 19.

Quoted from the official Instagram account @TMC Polda Metro Jaya, roads that were diverted, including at the Cawang Toll Road (heading to Tanjung Priok) were due to standing water reaching 60-70 cm, while all sedan-like vehicles were diverted to the Semanggi Toll Road.

Then, Jalan Suprato, Kampung Makasar, East Jakarta was temporarily diverted due to an inundation of 50 to 60 cm.

Then, a 50 cm high puddle also occurred in front of the Buncit Jagal Market on Jalan Kemang Utara 9, South Jakarta at 06.42 WIB, the traffic was temporarily diverted.

Furthermore, a puddle as high as 40-50 cm in front of the Ministry of Defense, Jalan DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta occurred at 07.08 WIB, for vehicles similar to sedans were advised not to pass.

A 30 cm high puddle was also observed on Jalan Kalimalang, East Jakarta before the Borobudur Campus towards DI Panjaitan, vehicles were urged to be careful when passing.

Furthermore, a 30-50 cm high puddle occurred in front of C'one Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Central Jakarta (direction Senen), while traffic was diverted to the fast lane.

While floods as high as 100 cm occurred in the Kalimalang Toll Exit tunnel, temporary traffic could not be crossed by two-wheeled vehicles.

Meanwhile, reported by Antara, the East Jakarta Transportation Agency diverted traffic around Cawang because a number of public roads were flooded on Friday morning.

"The traffic arrangement is located in Cawang Wika for vehicles heading to Kramat Jati," said Head of Operations for the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept, Riky Erwinda, in Jakarta.

Drivers coming from north to south are transferred by officers to be precise at the intersection of Jalan Kalimalang, Makasar, East Jakarta.

The activity to divert the flow of vehicles involved a number of officers in the uniform of the Transportation Agency as well as the traffic police because a number of road bodies were getting flooded with rain, especially vehicles from Cawang to Kebon Nanas.

Some other motorists chose to go against the direction in order to avoid the flood location.

The tunnel leading to Cililitan from Kebon Nanas was also reported to be flooded.

Riky added that traffic disruption was due to flooding, after heavy rainfall since early morning.
