Murderers Of Mother And Child In Aceh Who Hide Their Bodies Under Their Beds Arrested

JAKARTA - The East Aceh Police, Aceh, arrested two suspected perpetrators of the murder of a mother and child in an inland village in the district.

East Aceh Police Chief (Kapolres), AKBP Eko Widiantoro said the two perpetrators had the initials R (46) and M (37). Both are residents of Simpang Jernih Village, Simpang Jernih District, East Aceh.

"Perpetrator M was arrested at a house in Medan, North Sumatra, Wednesday, February 17 at 03.00 WIB. Meanwhile, R was previously arrested by the police in a case of vandalism and threats against residents," said AKBP Eko Widiantoro in Idi, the capital of East Aceh Regency, as reported by the police. The middle-ranking police officer said that the perpetrator R was a recidivist or someone who had been imprisoned. Meanwhile, perpetrator M is currently in the trial process at the Idi Court, East Aceh, related to the crime of entering someone else's court without permission.

AKBP Eko Widiantoro mentioned before a mother and her child were found dead under the bed of their house in Gampong Simpang Jernih, Simpang Jernih Subdistrict, East Aceh, Monday, February 15 at 14.00 WIB.

"The victim's mother is named Siti Fatimah (56) and her daughter named Nadatul Afraa (16), who is still in SMKN 1 Simpang Jernih. Both were found dead after not being seen for three days," said the Police Chief.

AKBP Eko Widiantoro said the disclosure of the case of the death of the mother and child was based on the results of investigations and information from a number of residents. From the investigation, the perpetrator led to both of them.

"The murder took place at 22.00. They hit the two victims with wood and iron. In fact, the perpetrator M allegedly raped the child. After taking action, the two perpetrators dragged the two victims under the bed," said AKBP Eko Widiantoro.

After finishing off the victim, the two perpetrators fled. Perpetrator M was hiding at his relative's house in Medan, North Sumatra. Meanwhile, the perpetrator R was arrested and detained for reports of vandalism and threats to residents at the Simpang Jernih Police.

"Now, the two perpetrators are detained at the East Aceh Police Headquarters for further investigation. Investigators are examining the two perpetrators to reveal the motive for the murder they allegedly committed," said AKBP Eko Widiantoro.
