JAKARTA - The Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) gave a certificate of appreciation to PT General Energy Bali (GEB) PLTU Celukan Bawang. The award was given for the company's contribution to tackling COVID-19 in Buleleng in 2020 through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

Contacted by VOI, Thursday, February 18, the General Affair of PT GEB PLTU Celukan Bawang Indriati Tanu Tanto explained, "He was given (the award) directly by the Regent of Buleleng. That was during the Chinese New Year celebration last week, Friday, February 11," he said.

"The district government knows that we have been working together, providing assistance to those in need and so on. The government also knows how we have a quarantine, pay attention to employees, pay attention to the community, give vitamins, what we can give to companies, "he added.

Apart from GEB, there are seven other companies that have received this award certificate. Indri said, apart from CSR, this award could not be separated from PT GEB's attention to COVID-19 which is still endemic.

This means that the government's appeal in implementing health protocols, from washing hands, using masks to maintaining distance, continues to be considered by companies. Evidently, until today there has not been a single COVID-19 case in PT GEB.

"Until now it is still safe, because we have strictly guarded the health protocol in the company environment. Yesterday there were about eleven coughing people, we immediately got PCR and all of them were negative," Indri.

As a precaution, Indri ensures that all employees undergo a swab test. PT GEB also works closely with a local hospital. Currently all procedures for the mass swab test are still regulated by the company.

"The number is hundreds of employees. I am communicating with the hospital in Buleleng. The company wants nurses or medical personnel to come and carry out swabs on the employees."

"The number of workers from China is around 130 people and 210 workers from Indonesia. Now those who work outside the GEB, then there are 47 at the GEB site," said Indri.

The company also makes new rules for guests or related parties visiting GEB. In the past, according to Indri, he was only asked to bring a quick test, now anitgen swab must be done.

"So everything is safe," said Indri.
