Asabri's Case, AGO Examines Witnesses From Maybank And Securities Companies

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has examined seven witnesses in the development of a case of alleged corruption in the management of finance and investment funds by PT Asabri.

Two of them came from PT Maybank Asset Management and the rest were Directors of securities companies.

"Examining 7 witnesses related to the alleged corruption case against PT Asabri", said Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in his statement, Thursday, February 18.

For witnesses from securities companies, including MAY as Director of PT Anugerah Securindo Indah, AS as Director of Bumiputera Sekuritas, SZ as Director of PT Bahana Securities, and LW as Director of Batavia Prosperindo Sekuritas.

Meanwhile, from Maybank, namely EFQ as the Institutional Relationship Officer for the period 2015 - 2020 and TJT as Head Dealer. Finally, the witness with the initials KK is not yet known which party is from.

"The witness examination was carried out in order to look for legal facts and gather evidence about the criminal act of corruption that occurred at PT Asabri", he said.

In Asabri's alleged corruption case, the AGO named nine suspects. Two former CEOs of PT. Asabri was named the suspect, namely Major General (Purn) Adam Rachmat Damiri and Sonny Widjaja.

Meanwhile, for the other six suspects, namely, BE as the former finance director of PT. Asabri; HS as Director of PT. Asabri; IWS as the Head of Investment Division of PT. Asabri; LP Managing Director of PT. Prima Network; BT and HH.

Finally, the AGO appointed Jimmy Sutopo (JS) as the Director of PT Jakarta Issuer Investor Relations as a suspect.

Jimmy Sutopo is a private party involved in criminal acts of corruption. The determination of the suspect against him was based on order number print 09/f.2/fd.2/02/2021 dated February 15, 2021.
