Regarding The Firmness Of The Constitutional Court's Marwah, Prabowo: The Rules Are Clear, We Are Not Small Children, Who Intervenes?

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto responded to questions related to the presence of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) allegedly violating the code of ethics and proving to be true about the age limit for presidential and vice-presidential candidates at least 40 years unless they have served as regional heads.

The question was raised by the presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo in the inaugural debate for the 2024 presidential election at the KPU Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday 12 December.

"What did Pak Prabowo comment on the decision that gave birth to the MKMK?" asked Ganjar.

Prabowo then responded by questioning who intervened in the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the age limit for presidential and vice-presidential candidates so that the MKMK decided that the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court at that time was proven to have violated the code of ethics so that he was dismissed from his position. However, Prabowo allowed the answer to come from the public, which he judged was intelligent.

"I think regarding the Constitutional Court, the rules are clear, we are not small children, the people are smart, the people know, the people see, Mas Ganjar we know what the process is, who intervenes? But basically we still uphold our constitution to be enforced by law, we fix what is less perfect and we obey the law itself," said Prabowo.

With this, Prabowo agreed that the judiciary, including the Constitutional Court, would re-establish its dignity.

"In this case I agree. I agree that we must make a strong judiciary that there must be a good system and test so that judges are the best judges for Indonesia," said Prabowo.
