LSI Survey: Prabowo-Gibran Electability Rises, Ganjar Drops

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) Djayadi Hanan said that Prabowo-Gibran's electability remains in the first position of his two competing candidate pairs Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"In December 2023, our survey found that pair number 2, Prabowo-Gibran, the electability figure or community support was at 45.6 percent," said Djayadi Hanan, Monday, December 11.

Paslon Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD's electability is at 23.8 percent. Almost the same as the pair number 1 Anies-Cak Imin with 22.3 percent.

Prabowo-Gibran's electability in December is said to have increased compared to the previous month.

"These numbers for prabowo tend to increase compared to October 2023," he continued.

Even so with Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar who also experienced an increase compared to October.

Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud actually experienced a decrease in electability compared to October 2023.

LSI suspects that Ganjar's electability has decreased because of the correspondent who has not answered in the October survey, has now made a choice with Prabowo.

"So we can guess here that those who have not been declared answered have dropped from 18.3 percent to 8.3 percent, so those who in October have not made a choice, currently many have moved to Prabowo," explained Djayadi.

The results of this survey were released in a survey entitled "Debat of Presidential Candidates, Neutrality of Elections and Electability" which was held in the period 3-5 December 2023.

The selection of samples in this survey was carried out through the random digit dialing (RDD) method involving 1,426 respondents.

Interviews conducted by telephone by trained interviewers with a margin of error claimed to be +- 2.6 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, a simple random sampling assumption.
