BOGOR - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin asked the police to take firm action against village staff suspected of corruption in social assistance funds for communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The head of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force said he was saddened by the officers of Cipinang Village, Rumpin, Bogor who wanted to reap profits from government assistance programs for the poor.

Bogor Police Chief, Harun said the ES suspect withdrew a deposit from LH who manipulated 30 social assistance recipient data so that he made IDR 54 million or IDR1.8 million from every single social assistance recipient account.

"The government provides IDR 600 thousand each month, multiplied by three to become IDR 1.8 million for each person", he said.

Harun said that LH carried out the action with the help of 15 people each equipped with two social assistance recipient accounts, to make disbursements at the Cicangkal Post Office, Rumpin, Bogor.

Then, as many as 15 people who disbursed the aid funds with barcode paper containing the National Identity Number (NIK) of the local residents, each was paid by the LH for IDR 250 thousand.
