Kaltara Is Still In 10th Place In The Province With The Lowest Inflation

Corruption Eradication Bureau Policy analyst at the North Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat (Kaltara), Syamsudin Bahri, said that at the online meeting the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) on week 4 November 2023, said that Kaltara Province's inflation was recorded at 2.45 percent Year on Year (yoy), 0.33 percent Month to Month (mtm) and 1.93 percent Year to Date (ytd) and was still perched on the list of 10 Lowest Inflation Provinces.

"The achievement of inflation in Kaltara is 2.45 percent better and is below the national inflation of 2.86 percent," he said, Monday, December 4.

Syamsudin revealed that this was influenced by 2 IHK cities (Consumer Price Index), namely Tanjung Selor City at 1.95 percent (yoy), 0.37 (mtm) and 1.76 (ytd) at number 2 the lowest inflation on the island of Kalimantan. And Tarakan City with an achievement of 2.58 percent, 0.32 percent (mtm) and 1.98 percent (ytd) was ranked 7th out of 12 IHK.

"This inflation occurs in 3 factors in the field of transportation, Personal Care / Services as well as Food, Drinks and Tobacco because it is approaching Nataru (Christmas and New Year). For Indicators of Non-IHK Kaltara Price Change, a combination of 3 regencies, namely Malinau Regency, Nunukan Regency and Tana Tidung Regency, inflation was recorded at 1.52 percent," he said.

Inflation on the Earth of the Continent was influenced by several commodities that were dominant in price change, namely Cabe Rawit at 0.856 percent, then Red Chili at 0.5897 percent followed by 0.2092 percent rice.

Therefore, Syamsudin reminded all office holders to continue to monitor and convey information from all commodities so that inflation can be overcome ahead of Christmas and New Year.

"To all parties who are members of the Regional Inflation Control Team, to always coordinate and find solutions when there are problems quickly as directed by the Minister of Home Affairs," he concluded.
