For this election, there is no special debate for vice presidential candidates as it was done in 2019. "I don't know what the purpose of the change is. Of course we regret it happened, unlike five years ago," said Cak Imin quoting Antara.Cak Imin is of the view, the debate is a means for candidate leaders to collide with the idea of explaining the vision-mission that will be carried out if elected as presidential and vice presidential candidates. According to him, the public can assess how the quality of the candidate leaders through a debate containing the idea of each candidate. Yes, in fact, this debate is part of the transparency of plans and future ideas. If this election wants to be good, we argue with ideas, fighting ideas.' We are ready to do that,' said the General Chairperson of the PKB. The 2024 Presidential Election will be carried out three times for presidential candidates and twice for vice presidential candidates, in accordance with KPU Regulation No. 15 of 2023 Article 50 Paragraph (1). Each session of the presidential-cawapres debate will consist of six segments, including the opening, reading of the rules, delivery of vision, mission, and work programs, as well as the covering segment. The KPU has also set a special theme for each debate session. The first debate on December 12 will discuss the law, Human Rights (HAM), government, eradication of corruption, and strengthening democracy. The second debate on December 22 will raise the theme of defense, security, geopoliticals, and international relations. The third debate theorem on January 7, 2024 covers the economy (activity and digital), social welfare, investment, trade, taxes (digital), finance, management of the state budget.

The fourth debate on January 21, 2024 will discuss energy, natural resources (SDA), SMN, carbon, environment and agrarian taxes, as well as indigenous peoples. The last debate on February 4, 2024 will focus on information technology, improving public services, hoaxes, intolerance, education, health (post-COVID Society), and employment. KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, with a voting schedule to be held on February 14, 2024.
