Kijang Car In Wonosobo Collapsed Because Of The Road That Suddenly Collapsed

JAKARTA - The Toyota Kijang LX, driven by Andi Asmara (31), a resident of Rowojali Hamlet, Tieng Village, Kejajar, Wonosobo Regency, which was driving on Jalan Kaliwiro-Selomanik Wonosobo fell into a sewer which suddenly collapsed.

Kapolsek Kaliwiro IPTU Budi Rustanto said the car with police number AA 8583 VF containing 7 people, the front wheels suddenly fell into a collapsed road because they could not bear the load.

"The road that was passed suddenly collapsed and caused a hole that was wide and deep. When the car fell in the back of the car, the position was above," he said in Wonosobo, reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.

Budi Rustanto said that the car with passengers of four adults and three children was all safe.

He said that under the road that suddenly collapsed and had holes in it, there were sewers that were thought to be porous, the culverts could not bear the weight of the car on them and suddenly collapsed.

"At that time the driver from the direction of Kauman Kaliwiro Village wanted to return to Rowojali, Tieng, Kejajar. When passing over the chute the car was running slowly because from the opposite direction there was another car coming. The driver pulled over and walked slowly because of the narrow road," he said.

He said that with good cooperation between the police and the community, the car with the rear on top could be towed after all the passengers were successfully evacuated from the car.

A resident who lived in the vicinity of the Yudo Adianto incident said the culvert was an old building.

"Actually, there are signs that the culvert is about to collapse, marked by a bumpy road. It happened yesterday that it rained heavily and now the culvert has collapsed," he said.
