Purbalingga Regent Dyah Hayuning Pratiwi ensured that the poor in Purbalingga Regency, Central Java, could undergo free hospitalization at Dr. Goeteng Taroendibrata Hospital and Panti Nugroho Hospital, although they have not been protected by National Health Insurance (JKN).

"The cost of hospitalization will be borne by the Purbalingga Regency APBD after taking care of the requirements to the Purbalingga Health Office," he said at the approval of the Tilik Village Regent at the Wirasaba Village Hall, Bukateja District, Purbalingga, Thursday, November 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, this has been regulated through the Purbalingga Regent Regulation Number 24 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of JKN in fulfilling the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) sourced from the Purbalingga Regency APBD.

He admitted that with the title of Purbalingga which had reached UHC, there were conveniences that could be obtained by the community.

"For example, if it has been processed, it has been approved from the Health Office, return home from this hospital, you can immediately get facilities so that the financing is free," said Regent Dyah.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Health for the Purbalingga Regency Health Office (Dinkes) Bambang Sucipto said that the poor who were sick could immediately undergo hospitalization without having to take care of the requirements to the Health Office first.

According to him, these requirements can be taken care of at the Purbalingga District Health Office after a hospital inpatient certificate was made.

"The inpatient certificate will be brought to the Health Office, then we will provide services according to working hours. Then we verify whether he is included in the DTKS (Integrated Social Welfare Data) or not. If he enters, we can directly. If he has not entered, we will handle it with funds from the local government," he said.

Purbalingga is the only district in the working area of the Purwokerto Health Social Security Administration (BPJS) Branch Office that has achieved universal health coverage or UHC because based on data as of September 1, 2023, the number of JKN participants in the region has reached 1,039,701 people or 100.36 percent of the total population of 1,035,959 people.
