Metro Police Deploys 3,448 Personnel to Guard Palestine Defense Action

JAKARTA - To secure the Palestine Defense Action, Metro Jaya Police deployed 3,448 joint personnel. The Palestine defense action will be held in the Monas area, Central Jakarta on Sunday, November 5.

"The total combined personnel for security of the action is 3,448 personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko when confirmed, Saturday.

Trunoyudo said the joint personnel consisted of elements from the National Police, TNI, and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, including Satpol PP, Transportation Service, Health Service, and Fire Department.

"From the National Police there are 2,774 personnel including Metro Jaya Police and Resort Police, then TNI elements with 500 personnel, and the DKI Regional Government with 98 personnel," he explained.

A number of elements of society who are members of the Indonesian People's Alliance will hold a Peaceful Action to Defend Palestine which will take place at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, this Sunday.

The action is planned to take place from 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB in the morning. There will be a number of speeches from interfaith figures. Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi is said to be attending the action.

"The Indonesian People's Alliance, which consists of cross-religions, cross-organizations, cross-groups, is invited to take part in the action to defend Palestine," said MUI Chairman for Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (2/11).

Sudarnoto said this action was a joint action of the Indonesian people who were furious and condemned Israel's aggression and occupation of the Palestinian people.

Trunoyudo also explained that the Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police had also prepared traffic engineering, although it was still situational.

"We are preparing traffic engineering, but it is situational," he said.

The traffic engineering prepared to regulate the movement of Palestine Defense Action is as follows:

1. Traffic flow from Harmoni Street towards Majapahit is diverted to Juanda Street and Suryopranoto Street.

2. Traffic flow from Budi Kemuliaan Street towards Gambir is diverted to Medan Merdeka Barat Street, Majapahit Street, and Harmoni Street.

3. Traffic flow on Medan Merdeka Selatan Street in both East and West directions has been diverted.

4. Traffic flow from the direction of Tugu Tani towards Medan Merdeka Selatan Street will be straightened towards Medan Merdeka Timur Street.
