U-17 World Cup Trophy Tour In Solo Presents Traditional Nuances

JAKARTA - The city of Solo, Central Java will be the closing city of the series of Trophy Experience tours for the 2023 U-17 World Cup by presenting different and unique events through traditional nuanced elements.

As celebrations in the previous three cities, Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, the city which is also the venue for the U-17 World Cup final will also present various parades that are no less lively by presenting elements of local peculiarities that can be enjoyed by the public on Sunday (5/11) at 06.30 WIB, along with Car Free Day (CFD).

Rows of soldiers from Pura Mangkunegaran, Mangkunegaran dancers, drum bands, and Persis Solo club stars will enliven the 2023 U-17 World Cup Trophy tour.

Gusti Kanjeng Mangkunegaran will also be present at the Trophy Experience series.

"Solo will be a special city during the U-17 World Cup and be in the world spotlight. In Solo there is a final and celebration event closing. Trophy Experience marks Solo's readiness ahead of the tournament. We hope for the support of the people of Solo, Central Java and DIY to make the U-17 World Cup a success," said Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir who also acts as Chairman of the Local Organizer Committee for the U-17 World Cup, through an official statement, Saturday.

The community in the city nicknamed Batik City will be able to witness firsthand the prestigious trophy that will be contested by the 24 countries on the planned route, starting from Jalan Diponegoro (Pasar Antik Triwindu) to Pura Mangkunegaran (Gapura Ngarsopuro).

The U-17 World Cup Trophy in Solo will later be exhibited at Mangkunegaran Temple, in front of the Kavallerie-Artillerie Building.

"This is an event (Trophy Tour) supporting outside of matches involving the wider community from various circles. In terms of infrastructure Solo is ready. For other supporting matters, while we are working on it. I hope that community support will be successful in the implementation of the U-17 World Cup, hand in hand," said Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Meanwhile, the Solo City Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) is ready to deploy hundreds of its athletes to enliven the 2023 U-17 World Cup Trophy Experience.

The chairman of the Solo City KONI, Lilik Kusnandar, explained that his party would field approximately 500 athletes from 62 sports.

"The Trophy Experience event is the right means to socialize the implementation of the U-17 World Cup in Solo City. CFD has always been crowded, people can be informed directly about organizing tournaments. They will be enthusiastic about getting closer to trophies," said Lilik.

Solo is the city that has played the preliminary competition for Group B of the 2023 U-17 World Cup, which is inhabited by Spain, Canada, Uzbekistan and Mali, and also one Group A match between Ecuador and Panama. All of these matches will be played at the Manahan Stadium.

In addition, the city of Solo will also be the venue for the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semifinals, the race for third place, the final, to the closing ceremony of the U 17 World Cup.
