Polda Metro Does Not Make The Emission Test The Terms For The Extension Of STNK

JAKARTA - Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman emphasized that he would not use the information to pass the emission test as a condition for the extension of the Vehicle Number Certificate or STNK. According to him, there has been no change in any requirements regarding the legality of vehicle taxes. "No, no. The requirement for an extension of the vehicle letter remains, there is no emission test as a condition," Latif told reporters, Thursday, November 2. If the information about passing the emission test is to be used as a condition for the extension of the STNK, there must be changes to the law as the basis. Meanwhile, the requirements for the extension of the STNK are contained in Article 62 of the National Police Chief Regulation (Perkap) number 7 of 2021, including identity evidence, BPKB STNK, the results of vehicle physical checks. "For vehicle tax vehicle registration, it still refers to existing regulations. So far, emission tests have not become letters or requirements. We do not apply that," said Latif. Meanwhile, the Head of the South Jakarta Environmental Agency, Mohamad Amin, said that the emission test results would be a requirement for the extension of the STNK. He made this statement when holding an emission test in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, November 1, 2023.

"The results of this emission test are a requirement for the extension of vehicle registration, both this year and the year to come," said Amin.
