BNNP Canceled The Shipment Of 248,057 Kilograms Of Marijuana Controlled By Rajabasa Prison Inmates

JAKARTA - Head of the Lampung Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) Brigadier General Jafriedi said the attempt to deliver 248,057 kilograms (kg) of marijuana that was successfully thwarted by the BNN was controlled by a prisoner in the Class IA Rajabasa Penitentiary, Bandarlampung.

"The suspect is Heri Susilo (26), a resident of Bandarlampung who controls him. He is a prisoner at the Rajabasa prison," he said in Bandarlampung, as reported by Antara, Thursday, February 11.

He explained that the suspect Heri controlled two couriers named Ahmad Salaludin (28), a Metro resident and Habin Ramdhan (20), a resident of Bandarlampung via a mobile phone.

"Initially we arrested two couriers, then we developed and captured the prisoners from inside the prison," he said.

Jafriedi added that the prisoner also ordered a truck that would bring marijuana to Jakarta. Two other people with the initials TN and TM who are now on the wanted list (DPO) play a role as a cannabis delivery person from Aceh.

"Previously, the marijuana was stored in a warehouse," he said.

The Lampung National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) canceled the shipment of 248,057 kg of marijuana-type narcotics which were packaged in 248 brown packages. Marijuana originating from Aceh was thwarted while at Jalan Airan Raya, Way Hui, South Lampung on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 22.30 WIB.

The three of them were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 111 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law No. 30 of 2008 on Narcotics with the threat of the death penalty.

In addition to securing marijuana, officers also secured evidence in the form of a Grand Max car and five cellphones.
