PDIP Changes The Position Of DKI DPRD Candidate For The Late Gembong Warsono With His Son

The PDI-P has proposed to replace the position of legislative candidate (bacaleg) for the legislative election of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, who died. Pengcalegan Gembong was replaced by his son, Yanuar Prabowo.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU Election, Dody Wijaya. Dody mentioned the submission for this change of position last week.

"The PDI-Perjuangan DPD has processed the replacement of the temporary candidate who died on behalf of Mr. Gembong Warsono on Friday, October 20, 2023," said Dody in a short message, Thursday, October 26.

Referring to KPU Regulation No. 10 of 2023 concerning the Candidacy of DPR/DPRD Members in Article 76 paragraph (1), if there are temporary candidates for DPRD members who die at a time after the determination of DCS up to 13 days before the determination of DCT on October 21, 2023, political parties can propose a replacement for the interim candidate.

Later, Yanuar will replace Gembong as PDIP candidate number 1 in the Jakarta 7 electoral district which includes Kebayoran Lama, Kebayoran Baru, Cilandak, Pesanggrahan, and Setiabudi sub-districts.

"According to the provisions, we have received (submission from PDIP) and the verification process and the preparation of DCT," said Dody.

For information, Gembong Warsono passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at around 01.30 am at the age of 60 years. Gembong has a history of heart disease and died at Pertamina Hospital. He was buried at the Tanah Kusir TPU, South Jakarta.

Now, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, is now the Acting Head of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, replacing Gembong. This was determined by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PDIP Regional Leadership Council (DPD), Ady Widjaja. Prasetyo became the Acting Chair of the PDIP Faction until the definitive position was determined.

Then, the DPD also appointed the Deputy Chairperson of the Internal Division of the DKI Jakarta PDIP Honorary Division Deserves Nainggolan to be the Acting Secretary of the DPD PDIP DKI Jakarta to fill the post of the late Gembong Warsono.
