Indomie Producer Hit By A Disaster, Indofood Factory In Tangerang Fire

JAKARTA - Indomie producer, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) was hit by a disaster. The fire incident occurred at the storage warehouse of one of the flexible packaging factories owned by ICBP which is located in Cikupa, Tangerang Regency, Banten on Monday, February 8, 2020 at around 14.03 WIB.

ICBP Corporate Secretary, Gideon A. Putro, explained in a written statement quoted by VOI, Wednesday, February 10 that the flexible packaging factory fire management team with the support of local firefighters managed to extinguish the fire at around 15.00 WIB.

Gideon said, there were no fatalities in the fire. However, there is one employee who suffered minor burns and has been referred for hospital treatment.

"The value of the losses incurred is estimated to be immaterial and has been covered by insurance," said Gideon.

The warehouse location is relatively far from the production area. Thus, this incident did not interfere with production, and currently the Company's flexible packaging factory in Cikupa has returned to normal operations.

"This incident did not have a significant impact on the company's operational performance," said Gideon.

Furthermore, Gideon said, there are no facts, material information, or other important events that have not been disclosed to the public that could have a significant effect on the company and are seen as affecting the fluctuation of the company's stock trading.

From this incident, ICBP management continues to increase work vigilance and safety, including by increasing the number of fire extinguishing systems that will function automatically in the event of a fire at the storage warehouse location, as well as prioritizing preventive measures according to standard operating procedures.

"The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the authorities," said Gideon.
