BANDUNG - The West Java (West Java) Provincial Government has decided to add another waste disposal quota to the Sarimukti TPA zone for four regions in Greater Bandung after previously adding it.
Head of the West Java Environment Agency Prima Mayaningtias said the four Greater Bandung regions that received the additional quota were Bandung City, Cimahi City, West Bandung Regency, and Bandung Regency, which in the last position had their quota expired, or exceeded what was agreed upon.
The addition of this quota is based on the Bandung Raya waste emergency handling coordination meeting which was attended by all members of the Greater Bandung Waste Emergency Management Task Force on Friday, October 13.
"During the emergency period, there is a quota that is valid on September 12, 2023, amounting to 31,000 tons, and there is an additional quota that is valid on October 5, 2023, amounting to 4,901 tons," said Prima in Bandung, Antara, Monday, October 16.
Prima said, on October 13, 2023, there are areas that still have the remaining quota, but West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, and Bandung City have finished their quotas starting from 9, 11, and 13 October, respectively.
On October 7, Prima said, a land arrangement had been carried out by a task force covering an area of 1.37 hectares to accommodate new waste and it was agreed to add a new quota for waste disposal in Zone 1 of the Sarimukti TPA for the four areas.
"With this addition, the quota for the city of Bandung to 3,424 ritase (the total number of fleets in the delivery of material from location A to location B) consists of 3,425 additional ritace and -1 remaining ritase. Cimahi City, the remaining 105 ritase quota plus 685 ritase total 790 ritase. West Bandung Regency remaining 0 ritase plus 628 ritase total to 628 ritase again. Prima explained that the amount of ritase was calculated based on the average volume of garbage trucks of 12 cubic meters with a waste density in trucks of 0.35 tons per cubic meter, so that during the emergency period the truck allowed to enter the Sarimukti TPK was a truck with a maximum capacity of 12 cubic meters.
"Each district and city are expected to be able to simulate or plan for daily waste delivery by paying attention to the maximum amount of waste that can be thrown into zone 1 to 12 November 2023," said Prima.
During the operation of Zone 1 of the Sarimukti TPA, Prima said, operating hours are limited from 08.00 - 16.00 WIB every day.
"Given the limited volume of the emergency zone, the West Java DLH will carry out regular monitoring and reported to each district and city to be guided," he said.
