Asabri Case, Attorney General's Office Seized 566 Plots Of Land Owned By Benny Tjokro In Banten

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) confiscated hundreds of plots of land which belonged to a suspect in the alleged corruption case of PT. Asuransi Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Indonesia (Asabri), Benny Tjokrosaputro.

Director of Investigation of Junior Attorney for Specific Crime (Jampidsus), Febrie Ardiansyah, said the confiscated land assets were in the Lebak area, Banten.

"(The number confiscated), 566 plots of land in the Maja area of Lebak Regency, covering an area of 194 hectares," Febrie told reporters, Tuesday, February 8.

Febrie said that the land assets were entirely related to the PT. Asabri case. This is because Benny Tjokrosaputro was also involved in the Jiwasraya corruption case.

In fact, several assets allegedly linked to the PT. Asabri corruption case have also been mapped. It's just that, Febrie did not want to convey it on the grounds that it is still in the deepening process.

"Don't reveal the others yet, it's still in process," he said.

Meanwhile, for assets located abroad, the search is still ongoing. In fact, to find it, the AGO took the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in coordination with other countries.

"In the context of MLA (mutual legal assistance), so that later we can explore it," he said.

Meanwhile, the AGO has named eight suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Indonesian Armed Forces Social Insurance (Asabri). Two of them are the former President Director (Managing Director).

Two former Directors of PT. Asabri were named as suspects, namely Major General (ret) Adam Rachmat Damiri and Sonny Widjaja.

Meanwhile, for the other six suspects, namely BE as former finance director of PT. Asabri; HS as Director of PT. Asabri; IWS as Head of Investment Division of PT. Asabri; LP Managing Director of PT. Prima Network; BT and HH.

In this case, the suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 or Article 3 Jo Article 18 of Law 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Jo Article 55 the first paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
