Syahrul Yasin Limpo And His Children Are Prevented From Going Abroad With 7 Others

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent nine people in corruption cases at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

One of the things prevented was Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who is a former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan).

"Currently, the KPK has proposed nine people to be prevented from traveling abroad," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, October 6.

Ali did not specify the identities of the nine people. However, based on information circulating, Syahrul was prevented with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono; Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta; and Head of the Organizational and Personnel Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture Zulkifli.

Furthermore, there is also the Director of Pupuk and Pesticide of the Ministry of Agriculture Tommy Nugraha; Head of the General Bureau and Procurement of the Ministry of Agriculture Sukim Supandi; and a doctor named Ayun Sri Harahap.

Information also mentions that Syahrul's son, Chunda Thita, who is a member of the DPR, was also prevented from leaving the country with a student, A. Tenri Bilang Radisyah Melati. These nine people will be prevented for six months.

"They have suspects and other related parties in the case," said Ali.

This prevention submission is carried out for six months and can be extended. It is hoped that the nine people will remain in the country to facilitate the ongoing legal process.

"Those who are prevented from staying in the country, so the KPK reminds these parties that they are cooperative in following this legal process, including by being present to fulfill the agenda of summoning the investigation team," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has raised the status of investigation into alleged corruption in the Ministry of Agriculture to investigation. There are already suspects who have been named but no details have been given. However, information circulated by the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and Director of Agriculture Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta were dragged into this case. In investigating this case, the KPK has conducted a search. At the official residence of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo investigators found money worth Rp. 30 billion consisting of rupiah denominations and foreign currencies as well as firearms. Then, searches were continued at the Ministry of Agriculture's Office. As a result, documents related to the corruption case were found. Most recently, investigators also visited Hatta's house in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. From the forced effort, Rp. 400 million was found.

Next, an Audi A6 branded sedan was also found which was confiscated by investigators. Investigators obtained this car when they searched Syahrul's house in Makassar. The findings obtained from the search are now being analyzed and confiscation will be carried out. Meanwhile, related to the findings, firearms were handed over to the police for follow-up.
