JAKARTA - The NasDem Party denied the meeting of the upcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates for the Change Coalition of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin with Habib Rizieq Shihab (HRS) discussing support for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Secretary General of the NasDem Party Hermawi Taslim said the meeting at Markaz Syari'ah Jalan Petamburan III, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta on Wednesday night was to fulfill the invitation to HRS's daughter's wedding reception, namely Syarifah Fairuz Syihab and Sayyid Muhammad Bagir Alathas.
"(Anies-Imin) attended HRS's daughter's wedding invitation. Both were invited," Hermawi said when contacted, Friday, September 29.
Hermawi said that the arrival of Anies and Cak Imin together was just a coincidence. Therefore, he said, there was no political interest in the meeting.
"Incidentally, at the same time as his presence, there was no appointment, met naturally," said Hermawi.
