JAKARTA - The traffic flow on Jalan Jatinegara Barat, East Jakarta, is clogged due to a part of the road body being submerged by the overflow of the Ciliwung River with a height of about 20 centimeters, Monday, February 8 morning.

As reported by Antara, Monday, February 8, the traffic flow around 06.00 local time or during working hours around the location experienced congestion because vehicles drove at low speed while passing in a puddle of water.

The puddle was triggered by an overflow from the Ciliwung River which is on the side of the road. The water from the river seeps into a number of drains and overflows the body of Jalan Jatinegara Barat.

In addition, high rainfall also affects the condition of the water. "This morning, the water discharge in the Ciliwung River is also high. So the water is seeping through the channel opening to the road", said motorcycle rider Bahrudin Harahap (45).

Vehicles such as TransJakarta and public transportation and private vehicles can still pass even though the river overflows have closed more than half of the road.

Drivers at the location take advantage of the bus lane to avoid puddles that submerge the slow lane.

Bahrudin was one of the riders at the location who was forced to push his motorcycle because the engine died while breaking through a 20 centimeter puddle of water.

"The water is very high. I thought it was safe to pass. I'm going to the garage first before going to work", he said.
