Police Investigate The Death Of The Head Of The Karangtengah BPD After The Pilkades

SUKABUMI - Sukabumi Resort Police, West Java, investigated the death of the head of the Karangtengah Village Consultative Body, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, Monday, whose body was found hanging in the kitchen of his house in Babakan Village.

"It is suspected that the victim with the initials ES ended his life by hanging himself, however, we are still investigating the certainty of the cause of death of the victim," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 25.

According to information compiled by the police, the discovery of ES's body, which is an employee of the Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) of Sukabumi Regency, when two residents visited the victim's house in RT 01/007 Karangtengah Village, Cibadak District at around 12.30 WIB.

At that time the victim's house was unlocked, but residents who wanted to visit and asked for the victim's signature regarding the implementation of the voting for the Karangtengah Village Head Election did not answer from inside the house after several greetings.

Because they were suspicious, plus the door to ES's house was not locked, the residents tried to enter the house and would be surprised to see the victim's body hanging in the kitchen. The resident then asked for help from residents and the police.

After Cibadak Police personnel came to the location, ES's body was then evacuated to Sekarwangi Hospital Cibadak for a post-mortem. It is suspected that the victim ended his life by hanging himself using a mine that was linked to his neck.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Sukanbumi Police, Iptuwas Saepul Rohman, said that the Cibadak Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently still asking for statements from a number of witnesses to reveal the case of the death of the Karangtengah BPD chairman.

"It is not yet known the motive for the victim to end his life by hanging himself because until now we are still developing this case by examining a number of witnesses," he added.

He appealed to residents to remain calm and not speculate on what happened to the chairman of the Karangtengah Village BPD, especially since this incident was the day after the voting and calculation of the Karangtengah Village Head Election.
