Metro Police Arrest 9 Youth Provocateurs Of Brawl To Sale And Purchase Of Sajam

Polda Metro Jaya arrested 9 youths involved in a series of brawls. They provoked on social media to the sale and purchase of sharp weapons.

"(Disclosure of cases) related to invitations, provocations, challenges as well as disseminating information containing elements of violence or those loaded with violations of decency," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Monday, September 18.

The youths named as suspects included the initials RK (24), GR (20), TH (20), MM (19), DWK (19), AN (19), GR (19). The other two are said to be minors, namely, WYRP and MFD.

The disclosure of this case began when investigators carried out cyber patrols. Then, several accounts were found that uploaded brawl violence.

The Instagram accounts include keluajunior14_, sq34_chivayoenk, eskhabe34_jakartacus, oeb.official_, allstar_mampang.

The deepening process was carried out until it finally led to the suspects. The arrest steps were immediately carried out.

"We are making efforts to force arrests and detentions related to uploading related to videos containing elements of violence or invitations related to the implementation of brawls," he said.

The actions of these suspects are said to have fulfilled the elements of a criminal act to provoke fights between groups. In addition, action against them is to prevent the emergence of greater acts of thuggery.

"The modus operandi carried out from the disclosure of our case, the 6 police reports in question, varied from invitations, challenges, provocations to carry out brawls, which were shared, distributed through social media," said Ade.

In this case, the suspects were charged with Article 27 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 and Article 28 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 2 related to the ITE Law, with the threat of imprisonment of 6 years and or a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion.

Then, Article 2 paragraph 1 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 12 of 1951, related to the emergency law, related to the sale and purchase of sajam which was transmitted distributed on social media.
