Kendari Basarnas Looking For A Tourist Who Drowned On Taipa Beach (Antara)

North Konawe SAR Alert Rescue Team, Kendari Basarnas deployed personnel to search for a tourist who sank on Taipa Beach, Lembo District, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra). Head of the Kendari Basarnas Muhammad Arafah in Kendari, Sunday, said that at 14:40 WITA, his party received information from Taipa Beach tourists who reported that conditions had endangered humans to the four tourists who had drowned.

"There were four tourists who drowned, but three people were rescued, and one person is still being searched on Taipa Beach, namely on behalf of Farli (16)," said Arafah.

He revealed, based on the report, his party dispatched a North Konawe SAR Alert Rescue Team using a car and carrying a rubber boat and other safety support equipment to provide SAR assistance. "The distance from Taipa Beach with the North Konawe SAR Alert Unit is about 47 kilometers," he said.

He mentioned the identities of the victims, namely Muh. Nurfadilah (16), Fahmi Landimuru (16), Arya (16) and Farli (16). The four of them are students at SMAN 1 Wawotobi.

The sinking of the four students began when they swam on Taipa Beach using one life jacket. "However, after being hit by the waves, the tires they used were released and resulted in four victims being swept away by the waves," he explained. Arafah said, of the four people, three of them were helped by beach visitors who saw the incident. "Meanwhile, Farli, could not be found," said Arafah.
