BOGOR - PT MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat has been outspoken about the fate of the plan to integrate tariffs for MRT, LRT Jakarta, Transjakarta and KRL Commuter Line transportation modes which have never materialized.

Tuhiyat said that the tariff for integrating transportation modes owned by the DKI Provincial Government with KRL owned by the central government could not be implemented because the plan to acquire PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) was canceled.

Tuhiyat said that MRT canceled its purchase of half of PT KCI's shares due to rejection from the central government, in this case the Ministry of BUMN and PT KAI as the owner of PT KCI. This was conveyed by Tuhiyat at the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Commission B meeting which discussed changes to the 2023 APBD.

"What happened after 2 years, the high level commitment dissolved. There was no commitment from the BUMN Ministry regarding KAI, because it can only control the BUMN Ministry," said Tuhiyat at the Grand Cempaka Resort & Convention, Bogor, West Java, Thursday, September 14.

Tuhiyat claims that his party has seriously carried out the mandate of integrating transportation modes in Jabodetabek. In fact, MRT has proposed regional capital participation (PMD) from the State Budget (APBD) to acquire 51 percent of KCI shares. However, in the end this plan was canceled.

"We have attempted a study. One of them is that integration can take place in Jakarta, once KCI enters the Jakarta ecosystem. Why? Because consultants think KCI is an urban railway that is happening. We are trying to do all of this, even the council has already budgeted it twice," said Tuhiyat.

"But at that time the center considered it complete (the acquisition was cancelled)," he continued.

In fact, PT MRT Jakarta and PT KAI have formed a joint venture company to carry out public transport integration, namely PT Moda Integration Transport Jabodetabek (MITJ) in January 2020. In which, MRT has a share share of 51 percent and KAI 49 percent.

With the cancellation of the acquisition plan causing tariff integration not to be implemented, Tuhiyat proposed that the government dissolve PT MITJ.

"This extends to the business entity formed between the DKI Provincial Government and the central government called the Jabodetabek Transportation Integration Mode. I ask it to be disbanded if its commitment is not consistent," he added.
