Pertamina Reveals New Findings Of Pertalite Polluted Well Water Cases On Mount Sindur

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan revealed new findings from the results of an investigation into well water in Penasinan Village, Gunung Sindur, Bogor Regency, West Java which were suspected of being polluted by Pertalite type fuel oil (BBM).

Riva explained that his party had sent an investigation team and he received a report that the wells that were the source of the residents' water were in a higher position than the storage area for fuel at the nearest gas station.

"So it is true what we received the report that the position of the well itself was indeed higher (from the storage of fuel at gas stations)," Riva said during a hearing with Commission VII of the DPR as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.

He explained that as a further handling step, Pertamina had stopped distributing fuel through gas stations in the area.

According to the findings of the latest investigation, Riva revealed that from several wells examined, there was one well indicated to have been contaminated.

"From some of the wells we are trying to see, there is indeed only one well that is indicated to be contaminated and the fuel is clear so there is no leakage or seepage. But indeed the fuel itself if taken together with the Forensic Laboratory Center yesterday was clear. the fuel," explained Riva.

His party continues to carry out broader investigations by attracting law enforcement officials and the Forensic Laboratory to investigate the causes of the water pollution, including allegations of hoarding fuel.

"A wider investigation was carried out to see if there are potentials as we discussed together regarding hoarding and we did it together, not only with APH (law enforcement officers) but also with Puslabfor," said Riva.
