Commander In Chief Regulates ADC And Spri Technicals To Ensure TNI Netrality

TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono will issue technical rules for soldiers serving as ADC (aide de camp) and personal secretaries (spri) of officials, especially those who have the potential to nominate themselves for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

Yudo explained that the technical rules serve as guidelines for soldiers so that they remain neutral during the general election stages.

"Later, we will arrange it, including ADC, Spri, we will arrange it, we will definitely arrange it so that the TNI's neutrality can truly become the trust of the TNI community to be neutral," said Admiral Yudo after giving directions at the TNI's technical guidance program in the 2024 election to his staff at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta., reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 12.

On the same occasion, he said that the TNI would also appoint personnel in charge of securing presidential and vice presidential candidates running for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"Later we will appoint personnel to secure the candidates (presidents and vice presidents, ed.)," said Yudo.

The Commander in Chief continued that technical rules for soldiers related to the 2024 General Election will be issued in the form of a decision by the commander in chief (Keppang).

"While we provide socialization to soldiers," said Yudo.

In a technical guidance event at TNI Headquarters, which was attended by the main officials of each dimension, Admiral Yudo explained that the implementation of TNI neutrality consisted of six points.

First, soldiers and civil servants of the TNI do not side with or provide support to political parties or pairs of candidates. Second, soldiers and TNI civil servants do not provide TNI facilities or facilities and infrastructure as a means of campaign. Third, soldiers and TNI civil servants do not provide direction to the families of soldiers/PNS TNI related to elections.

Fourth, soldiers and civil servants of the TNI do not respond to the quick count results in any form. Fifth, superiors or commanders take firm action against TNI soldiers and civil servants who are involved in practical politics. Sixth, soldiers and TNI civil servants who run for example as candidates for legislative/candidate members of the regional head must resign.

The Commander, in the event, conveyed the second point, namely related to borrowing facilities, places, facilities and infrastructure, which can be vulnerable loopholes.

"Now for example, there is our senior to the Pangdam (parlima of the military area), brothers and sisters, please borrow my vehicle to transport you now there are no vehicles there. Then, regarding the points of not giving directions, the Commander explained that soldiers can only provide directions related to security or for the sake of keeping the situation conducive and orderly, not directing their families or people around them to choose certain candidates or parties.

For point four, not responding to the results of the quick count, the Commander reminded soldiers, including officers, to be careful, especially when they saw the quick count results on social media. Yudo emphasized that the TNI and each generation has a cyber team that can monitor soldiers' activities on social media.

"Be careful, there is no profit," said Yudo.
