Anies And Muhaimin Visit Sunan Ampel's Grave In Surabaya

SURABAYA - The pair for presidential and vice presidential candidates Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, visited the Tomb of Raden Rahmat or Sunan Ampel in Surabaya, East Java.

The two of them left together after the Halaqoh activity of Sunan Ampel's political thoughts at a hotel in Surabaya. Anies and Muhaimin compactly wore white when visiting Sunan Ampel's grave.

Arriving at the tomb complex, they were greeted enthusiastically by thousands of people, most of whom were pilgrims from various cities in East Java.

Muhaimin, who is also the general chairman of PKB, stated the reason for choosing Sunan Ampel with Anies, was due to a tradition in the pilgrimage to the grave of the songo guardian (nine guardians).

"If you want to make a pilgrimage to the grave of the songo guardian, starting from the Ampel or ending it in Ampel," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 9.

The PKB DPP held a tour and beat the struggle of Wali Songo, 7-10 September 2023. According to the schedule, the tour started with Cirebon visiting the Sunan Gunung Jati Cemetery, then Demak visited the graves of Sunan Kalijaga and Sunan Muria.

Next to Kudus visited Sunan Kudus' grave. Then to Tuban visited Sunan Bonang's Tomb, to Lamongan visited Sunan Drajat's grave.

Then he headed to Gresik to visit the graves of Sunan Giri and Sunan Gresik and ended up in Surabaya on the Sunan Ampel Cemetery pilgrimage.
