MAKASSAR - South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Governor Nurdin Abdullah visited Lantigiang Island in the Selayar Islands, South Sulawesi. Nurdin made sure that Lantigiang Island could not be bought by anyone.

“We just visited Lantigiang Island with the Regent. So in fact, this island is historically included in the Taka Bonerate National area. It just so happens that there are Selayar people who are married to Germans. That's what the village head tries to negotiate. But I think everything can come back in full and is now in legal proceedings. I see that the island is not big, not wide, but the atoll is quite interesting, ”said Nurdin Abdullah to reporters, Wednesday, February 3.

The Governor of South Sulawesi also received information about investors' interest in building on the Lantigiang island atoll. But Prof. NA, as he is usually called, ensures that it cannot be done.

"I think the island itself will not be possible to buy by anyone because it has become a national area," he continued.

"I think about our island, God willing, it will not be possible to buy it and to all the people I hope that the Taka Bonerate National Park is a strategic area that we certainly protect from various attempts to destroy," said NA.

The South Sulawesi governor submitted the process of handling the Lantigiang Island sale case to the police. The Selayar Police have investigated a number of people related to this case.

"So the Regent has taken steps and now the case is with the police but the island itself has not been sold. Because it is only Rp. 10 million in advance and there will be no way government officials can make the transaction, "said Prof. NA.
